Tiger Woods is one of the most inspirational golfers of all time. The 15-time major winner has a barrage of fans worldwide for his exceptional skills on the course. Woods is also widely known for his humble nature and bold attitude.

During the JP McManus Pro-Am being held in Limerick, Ireland, Woods was seen playing in a cart for the entirety of the event. He revealed the reason behind him not walking between the shots in the post-game interview.

He also announced that he will be playing in the British Open next week at St. Andrews. 

Tiger Woods uses a cart in the JP McManus Pro-Am

Woods played decently well in the second round of the JP McManus Pro-Am. In an interview after the round, the golf ace revealed why he prefers to use a cart to move between holes.

“I still prefer riding in a cart,” he said. “I’m doing that here only because I don’t need to push it right now. I’ve got a long week ahead of me and all of next week to do that. Save the legs.”

Woods also mentioned that he feels lucky to be a part of the upcoming event and wants to make one more run at a high level. The original plan for the golf legend was to play at the US Open, but that could not happen.

Woods reason of opting out of the US Open

Tiger Woods wanted to be a part of the US Open that began on June 16. However, the man could not push himself to play in the event due to his leg that was still in recovery from hi accident last year. “The plan was to play the US Open,” the golf star stated. “But physically I was not able to do that. No way physically I could have done that.”

Woods recently recovered from a car crash that happened in February 2021. The crash nearly cost the player his leg. Nevertheless, as he mentioned in the same interview, the legend is now in a better state physically. “I’ve gotten a lot stronger since the PGA,” he said. He also said that the number of reps has increased for him.
