Tiger Woods assisted in making important PGA Tour decisions
LIV Golf reportedly made their most extensive offer ever made to a player, and it was for Woods. But the player sincerely denied the alleged $700-800 million deal. That is how strong Woods stands for the PGA Tour. Similarly, the tour looks at him as more than just a player. Tiger Woods is and has always been the face of the PGA Tour. But according to Alan Shipnuck’s recent report, Woods is also a decision maker for the tour now.
Golf writer and reporter, Alan Shipnuck, recently gave updates about the ongoing meeting between the PGA Tour’s officials. Woods flew in for the meeting along with Rickie Fowler. And according to Shipnuck, Woods is helping the PGA Tour make many important decisions for the tour’s future.

Shipnuck reported that Woods is helping PGA shortlist the top players during the discussion. The reporter also claimed that the same process went by at Adare Manor – the 2022 JP McManus Pro-Am venue. He also continued to refer to Woods as a “de facto commissioner” for the PGA Tour. Shipnuck doubted if Woods was acting on his own or if he was getting “guidance from the real Commish” referring to Jay Monahan.
Fans react as Woods takes charge of the PGA Tour
Tiger Woods is one of the strongest pillars for the PGA Tour today. He is responsible for holding the few players back who are still standing by the former tour. It is almost like Tiger Woods is running the PGA Tour. And fans have no issues in accepting that. Here are a few reactions to the news:
Rename it the Tiger Tour!

He can't play much, but he still can compete, and I'm sure beating Greg Norman has a lot of appeal

Well, Tiger practically invented limited playing schedules and he hosts a limited field event…so I think he should be familiar with the desire of the players to not play 35 times per year in fields that include 75 random players that will barely keep their card.

Is it ideal that a billionaire is the de facto commissioner?
— Dermot Wickham (@HertsTimelord) August 16, 2022
Or is he giving the real commissioner guidance?

I mean, if I’m honest, I trust Tiger over anyone else on this. That may be ridiculous, but Tiger’s voice is the one I’d want loudest on the PGA Tour.
