The 2022 QBE Shootout is being held at the Tiburon Golf Club in Florida. It is a season event by the PGA Tour, where two world’s top LPGA Tour players are part of the field. Despite being the debutante, the current world no. 2 female golfer played well with her partner, Denny McCarthy, making some experienced male golfers praise her.

“We talked about her all day,” Kevin Kisner and Max Homa, who are playing as a team at the event, said about Nelly Korda‘s performance in an interview after round 1.

Notably, the current world no. 7, Lexi Thompson is also part of the Tiburon GC this week. However, it is not her first time attending the event, whereas it is the first-time experience for the 24-year-old Korda. Watching her for the first time live made Homa and Kisner become admirers of her gameplay.

Kevin Kisner showered Nelly Korda with the best compliment he can ever give

The one-time major champion has never played at the QBE Shootout. Yet, she played well, helping her team to tie at 4th position after round 1 with an impressive 12-under 60

“I think I called her the Tiger Woods of the LPGA Tour at one point,” Kisner said. Notably, Tiger Woods is widely considered the G. O. A. T. among male golfers. Therefore, a comment like that from a senior player like Kisner would put the 1-time major champion over the moon.

“Like does she hit a bad shot?… I’ve never seen her hit a bad shot,” Kisner couldn’t hide the awe he felt after watching the LPGA player’s round. “We were laughing all day.”

The pair continued to praise the young female golfer as she played more than well for a first-timer at the QBE Shootout.

The LPGA player impressed Max Homa with her gameplay and modesty

There are hundreds of female golfers playing the sport as a profession. And Homa claimed that Nelly Korda can be a threat to other female players.

“It’s a testament to these other ladies that anyone can’t even sniff beating her,” he pointed out. “Because that was wildly impressive.”

Notably, Lydia Ko is the current world no. 1 after finishing the last season with great statistics. And according to Homa, Korda believes the New Zealander plays better than her. However, Homa believed that the two “would have a nice battle.”
