Tiger Woods has always shared a sweet bond with his mother. Kultida, who is no stranger to the golf world, is often seen in various events that he plays and is always there to cheer him. Fathers are often seen as the disciplinarians in the family. However, in the Woods household, so was not the case, as Kultida Woods was the real boss. Even Tiger often says the same, “my mom, not my dad, I was scared of”. She’s the one who drove Tiger to tournaments, kept his score, walked hole by hole, and made sure he did his homework.

Moreover, Kultida found ways to get to him, even when he was growing into an adult, as she discovered that guilt worked best as Tiger entered his 30s’. In a piece by ESPN in 2009, she spoke about how she got the better off Tiger even when he was an adult.

She said, “When he doesn’t call me for a long time. I might get on the phone and leave a message that says, ‘Hey, Tiger, you remember the woman you used to call “Mom”? One of these days there won’t be someone you can call that.”

However, Tiger repeatedly has proved that he is a great son, who even wears red on Sundays because of his mother. He says, “I wear red on Sundays because my mom thinks that is my power color. And you know, you should always listen to your mom.”

Similarly, Kultida, too, has never shied away from expressing her love for the legend. As someone who has been there for him always, she says, “I always told him, ‘You can always count on Mom. Mom will never lie to you. Every night, I pray to the Buddha that in the next life Tiger will be my son.”
