Are we going to see an expansion of TGL already? With just one match for the tech-infused league. The talks have already begun to expand the tech-infused setup further to make it accessible. Fans and even prominent personalities from other industries have shown interest in the leagues.
The Ford family (Detroit Lions), Wilf family (Minnesota Vikings), and John Bitove, the founder of the Toronto Raptors, were seen during the opening night at the SoFi Center. The league, apart from the top names in the leadership team, including Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, intrigued the fans with the new concept of tech and real-world fusion in golf.
With fans eager to see how it will evolve golf for the future. The excitement and curiosity can be witnessed with the high viewership average, even though being a weekday event. The first match averaged 919,000 viewers. Now, when looking at the bigger picture, new facilities apart from the SoFi are also being considered, along with golfers from LIV are also in consideration.

The event currently has the top names from the PGA Tour, but with its expansion, Mike McCarley founder and CEO of TWRM Sports has shared some interesting things about the expansion. He not only pointed out increasing the list of players and teams but also made a clear remark for LIV Golf when asked about the inclusion of potential LIV golfers in mind. As per Sports Business Journal, he said, “Oh yeah. Yes, absolutely.” He further added, “But the reality is, we have a good business in what we have right now.”
Earlier Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton were not supposed to be a part of TGL as it included only PGA Tour players. However, now things have changed and with just one match, everyone is hoping to see the bigger picture of the sport’s evolution with TGL. The inclusion of LIV players into TGL could also mean Jon Rahm and Co., being considered for the OWGR. Another event for them to increase their rankings. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. However, the CEO of TMRW further discussed plans moving into the future.

What is the plan of TMRW ahead of TGL?
The concept of tech and the real world was criticized earlier, but now it is one of the most talked about topics. While McCarley has planned a long way ahead after TGL. He shared that TGL is the first project and said it is the beginning, but not the only one. “Are there sports that have truly global big stars that you can lean into and just reimagine or rethink and do it with the biggest stars in the world? That’s the key,” he further shared.

Though, as per the reports of Sports Business Journal, he didn’t share much in detail but made sure that his midnight thoughts were added to his scribble book. Even sharing about new ventures, he said, “We have been pitched nearly every sport from around the world, but there’s some that I think are just more interesting. … For me, it’s just you kind of watch it and kind of dig into it and say, ‘OK, if I could change this, if I change that, what would it potentially be?’”
