The world’s greatest golfer Tiger Woods is currently focused on training young Charlie Woods to get in his best form. Despite being injured himself, Woods is trying his level best to be there for his son and his rounds on the field. And he recently talked about how he managed to balance his roles as a father and a mentor for his boy at the same time.

Tiger Woods wants his son to enjoy the game as a kid

Tiger Woods has been the biggest supporter of his son Charlie Woods and his golf dreams. The little golfer is lucky enough to have the world’s greatest golfer standing strong behind him as his coach, and sometimes his caddie. But no matter what role Woods plays in his son’s life on the field, he will always be his father. And when the golf legend was asked about how he separated himself as a coach and “the dad” for his son, his response showed how understanding he is as a father. In a recent podcast, Woods opened up about how he tried to stay soft towards his son considering he is just a kid.

“I tried to shoot people away and just let him enjoy or don’t put any pressure on him,” Woods said“Let him be a kid.” Woods also talked about Charlie’s first PNC Championship alongside him. “When he first played PNC, he was 11 years old, just let him be an 11-year-old kid,” he said. and now he’s in eighth grade and it but still, he’s a kid, okay? Let him let them be a kid enjoy it.” The golf star also said that he didn’t want the world to compare his son to him and his skills. “He’s not me. He’s Charlie, okay. And he’s gonna be his own person.” Woods added. The 15-time major winner said that his son was going to create his own path. And that he tried his best to provide the budding golfer with the best environment possible for the same.

Woods also once talked about how he never asked his son to be a professional golfer. But Woods Jr. developed an interest in the sport ever since he saw his father conquer the sport. But despite being his biggest supporter, Woods still admitted to using his father’s methods while training his son. Despite being super friendly and open to conversations with his son, Woods plays a father’s role before anything else. According to Woods, he has been trying his best to protect his son from the world around him and is helping him grow into the man he wants to be.
