The second match of TGL is only a few hours away! Fans are keenly waiting to see Tiger Woods in action in the arena at SoFi Center. He and the Jupiter Links GC will be facing Collin Morikawa’s Los Angeles GC in a star-studded field to see who has the better skills in indoor golf. With the squads already announced by TGL, the community was left surprised considering the picks made by both teams.
However, Tommy Fleetwood getting benched was expected considering his commitments to the DP World Tour. The Englishman will be playing at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic alongside fellow TGL player and co-owner, Rory McIlroy and other top European players. But Tom Kim getting benched was a major shock after the impeccable strokeplay he displayed throughout 2024. The 22-year-old nearly defeated Scottie Scheffler twice while securing quite a few top-10 finishes.
Now that we know who is left out, let’s take a look at those who made it and how they will contribute to their respective TGL teams.

Jupiter Links Golf Club
Tiger Woods
It’s only fair that we begin with the GOAT of the team. With the greatest and one of the most influential golfers on their side, the Jupiter Links GC should have a clear advantage in the match. Moreover, Tiger Woods is also the co-owner of the league, which will always give him an edge in any matchup. Over the past few years, Woods’s biggest enemy has been the long yards of golf courses he has to walk. With the TGL arena, he wouldn’t have to worry too much about walking. This is better than the cart he could have availed in the 2024 PNC Championship. Even a wounded Tiger (Woods) can do more damage under the right conditions than most players on best days. Los Angeles GC must be quite aware of that.
Max Homa
Woods is teamed up with Max Homa, the man who finished at T3 in the 2024 Masters Tournament. Homa has been on a great run getting 8 top-25 finishes in the 18 cuts he made in 2024. He also kicked off 2025 really well by ending up at T26 at The Sentry. The world no. 40 is one of the highest-ranked players in his team and he would like to prove that by overcoming the odds and helping the Jupiter Links Golf Club win at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Kevin Kisner
It was surprising to see Kevin Kisner get picked over Tom Kim for the first match of Jupiter Links GC. However, if you consider the abundance of experience he brings to the squad, it’s not as difficult to imagine why he made it. The man from Aiken is efficient at putting and is known for his consistent play on the course. Kisner’s performance at the 2021 Wyndham Championship showed that he has the fight to overcome 5 challenges in a tense playoff format and win the title. That is what Tiger Woods would be hoping to see on January 14, 2025.

While this is a formidable squad, their opponents too are no strangers to victory. Let’s see what the Los Angeles GC has to offer.
Los Angeles Golf Club
Collin Morikawa
Collin Morikawa is one of the best golfers in the world at the moment. The world no. 4 has reached the pinnacle in the PGA Tour, on the DP World Tour, and also at the majors accumulating 7 titles in his career. Morikawa’s triumphs at the 2021 Open Championship and the 2020 PGA Championship prove that he is a man for the big moments and that is exactly the kind of energy his team will need against the Jupiter Links GC. Additionally, he had an awesome start to 2025 with his performance at the Sentry, a second-position finish. Something tells us he is finally ready to win big after the trophyless season in 2024 that included a couple of runner-up finishes with 6 more in the top 10.
Justin Rose
The 2013 U.S. Open winner has reached the heights most golfers dream of throughout their professional careers. Ever since his debut, Justin Rose has captured 11 PGA Tour titles including the previously mentioned triumph at the U.S. Open. While the 44-year-old did miss 7 cuts in 2024, he also nearly won the 2nd major of his career at The Open Championship narrowly missing out by 2 strokes against Xander Schauffele. While TGL is no major, having the experience, skills, and composure of Justin Rose on the course will be a big plus for the Los Angeles Golf Club.

Sahith Theegala
At first glance, it might seem like Sahith Theegala has come off an average 2024 season. But when the fans look closer, they will see that he was one of the best players on the Tour last season. Theegala had a couple of 2nd place finishes last season and finished in the top 10 in nearly half the cuts he made. Right off the first tournament, the Orange local was 1 stroke away from capturing a title. He had many such hits and misses throughout the season. However, just like his teammate; Collin Morikawa, Theegala too will be looking to start winning again as he goes up against the Jupiter Links GC this Tuesday.
There is one clear favorite team for the fans this time around and that is mostly due to the presence of Tiger Woods. But when we look closely at the squads, we can see that the Los Angeles GC has an in-form squad as compared to the veterans of Jupiter Links GC with Max Homa & Justin Rose adding a healthy mix. While the contest will be exciting to watch, we can see either of the teams capturing the winning on January 14, 2025.
