Claude “Butch” Harmon Jr. is a well-known name in the golf world, having spent the majority of his life on the greens themselves. While he is surely a legend of the techniques of the game, this new demonstration drives attention to the ever-known humorous side of the veteran golfer and instructor.
Through a new tweet from Flushingitgolf, the interest of the viewers is instantly grabbed by the advice the senior player has for the budding stars. Harmon starts by calling out those who are “temperamental” and “like to throw clubs.” He steps aside from agreeing or disagreeing with the action, even though he has done it himself.
Jokingly pointing out the art of the throw, he says, ” No. 1- never throw the club sideways or backward.” The reason behind this logic is what surely drives out a laugh from everyone watching. In his usual antics, he states, “Cause you have to go get it.”
This is where things get even more interesting when he starts elaborating on the “technique.” Displaying the full stance of the throw, he starts by saying how having a nice wind-up is important. This is followed by how important the distance covered by the club is; hence, the more anger inside you, the further the throw will be!

Comically, the instructor adds about it “only going about 50 yards, “ hence giving way to a practical demonstration of how the club needs to be thrown. The last words of hysterical wisdom from the experienced golfer come with an animated cheer, sharing, “And always with an underhand.”
Calling the golfer “the best” in the caption of the video, even the Twitter account could not hold back their laughter from pouring out while uploading the clip. With that, let us take a look at the famous golfers who have indulged in this behavior.
Famous golfers who have indulged in this infamous anger reaction
With the mention of “temperamental” players throwing their clubs, the golf world immediately recalls some famous names. From senior players to young golfers, the greens of the game have witnessed enough of the infamous action.
The first name on the ill-reputed list is that of golf legend Tiger Woods. On technicality, the veteran did not exactly throw his club; he did, though, kick the club with his foot. The incident indicated Woods’ displeasure with his gameplay during the majors and his lack of decorum during such a prestigious tournament.
The list would have been incomplete without the golf world’s “Bad Boy” John Daly. The golfer is known for his outrageous behavior. One such incident was witnessed by the audience at the 2011 Australian Open. It was during this tournament that Long John fired seven golf balls into the water. Ultimately, the frustration got to the veteran, who couldn’t help but “spear-throw” his club.

Last on the list of famous throws is none other than Rory McIlroy. The otherwise composed golfer has a history of throwing golf equipment not once but twice. The most viral one came during the 2015 WGC-Cadillac Championship. Just after the golfer shot the ball at the par-5 8th hole, the golf ball went hurling into the belly of the water body nearby.
