Finally, it happened. After a year of waiting, the anticipated father-son duo Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods are back in Orlando for the 2023 PNC Championship. While their mannerism usually attracts the most to the golf world, this time, everyone was interested in one thing: is Tiger Woods wearing Nike?

The soon-to-be 48-year-old golf pro still chose to wear his multi-billionaire partner’s apparel, except for the shoes. There has been a rumor since his Hero World Challenge appearance that the golfer and Nike are on the verge of breaking their 27-year-old deal.

Nevertheless, one can easily spot the logo on his polo and other apparel from the video of their arrival before the PNC Championship pro-am.

Woods was only 20 years old when he signed a deal with Nike for the first time. Starting at $40 million, the golfer and the brand are reportedly in a $340 million contractual relationship as of now. Over the years, the two became the most jealous-worthy partnership in the history of sports.

However, rumors of a break in their bond started when the 47-year-old wore Foot Joy shoes instead of Nike during golf tournaments. Lately, the alleged end of the contract after the 2023 PNC Championship has been the center of attention in the golf world.

As reported by several media houses, Woods wore his Nike apparel to the father-son event, although it remains a mystery whether it will be the last time the golfer wears them. Notably, Charlie, who always followed his father’s fashion at the event, surprised everyone. The video shows he is not wearing the same polo as Tiger this time. On the other hand, the Nike logo on his cap is visible on the back of his hat.

After Nike, what’s next for Tiger Woods?

Despite a near-fatal car accident, Tiger Woods remains one of the main entities in the golf world, if not the world of sport. Hence, signing another apparel deal will not be a problem for the golf legend.

FootJoy is expected to be one of the main brands to close a deal with him, as the 15x major champion has already started to wear their shoes for almost two years. Hence, it only makes sense for him to close a contractual deal with them.

Notably, many professional golfers have signed with the brand for a long time. 6-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa and 6-time LPGA winner Jessica Korda are two of the major golf ambassadors of FootJoy apparel.

Although it is just a rumor, considering Tiger Woods’s preference to wear a different brand of shoes for a long time, his relationship with Nike seems to end shortly. Do you think the 2023 PNC Championship will be a venue to witness such a moment?
