The Hero World Challenge – hosted by Tiger Woods – is back in Albany, Bahamas this year. With the field decided, the best of golf will be present at the event starting November 29, extending till December 5. Players will spend a week in the Bahamas, playing in this unique event hosted by the PGA Tour legend.
With the field decided and announced, a few players can consider this one of the best invites they will receive this year. As per reports, Matt Fitzpatrick will be playing in Albany – an event in which event the last ranked player earns $100,000.

How does a Hero World Challenge invitation help Matt Fitzpatrick?
As per Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapaport, the 27-year-old has the best invite in golf with the sponsors’ exemption to the Hero World Challenge – the final spot left on the 20-person event. The golfer spends one week in the Bahamas, while also having the opportunity to earn some OWGR points. As mentioned above, even the person who ranks last will be taking home a $100K.
Fans seemed to agree with the tweet, one even comparing it to Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. “It is the best invite in golf,” wrote one fan, while some others agreed. One even joked about being available for the event himself.

Having said that, Fitzpatrick last played the OHL Classic, finishing T64. This was his third event this season, the first being the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (T30).

Out of the above-mentioned names, some are chosen due to their rank, while some are exemptions like Fitzpatrick. Known to bring together the best in golf, this event began in 2000 and has been held in Albany since 2015 after going global. It was also scheduled in Florida for one year.
Tom Lehman won the inaugural event, while Henrick Stenson is the defending champion.

Having said that, most are also awaiting an official Tiger Woods update through the tournament. The 15-time major winner has been sidelined since his crash in February. While he has been spotted a few times, no formal update has been provided on Woods’ condition and return to the course. Hopefully, Woods is on his way back, recovery going as planned.
