Tiger Woods Gives a Playful Warning to Jordan Spieth at Genesis, Makes the Pro-Am Eventful

The 2024 Genesis Invitational has not even started, and Tiger Woods is grabbing all the attention! The 48-year-old has been away from the green for months thanks to his injuries and surgeries. At first, many thought he was not at 100 percent fitness due to his donning a compression sleeve.

His new Sun Day red apparel also made its way on the greens. Woods’s Pro-Am round of the event was as eventful as it could get, and Woods also had a member of his family. It assured his fans that he was in peak condition and was ready to take on the competition. He even sent a fair yet hysterical warning to Jordan Spieth during the Pro-Am when the two pros were discussing their tee-off timings. Spieth informed Woods that his group might just be playing in front of Woods’s group during the first round, to which he cheekily replied, “Ok, I’ll ht into you then.”

Before the main event, the Genesis Invitational offered two Pro-Am events for the fans to enjoy. The first one was held on February 11, Monday, featuring four amateur golfers per pro. The other one was the Genesis Invitational Pro-Am presented by Bang & Olufsen, featuring three amateur golfers on Wednesday of tournament week. During this event, Woods drained a 15-foot eagle at hole one.

But what was more interesting were the people playing alongside the 48-year-old at the Pro-Am. Among the three amateurs alongside Woods, one was a Genesis Invitational executive. The other two were former Yankee Aaron Hicks and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Interestingly, Hicks is married to former LPGA pro Cheyenne Woods. She is a half-niece of Tiger Woods. Furthermore, she was also present on the greens alongside the 48-year-old and was following the play along with her and Hicks’ baby.

While the appearance of the extended family of Woods intrigued the fans, nothing caught their eyes more than the new Sun Day Red apparel Woods was wearing.

The release of Sun Day Red is one of the most talked-about things among golf fans. Tiger Woods introduced the brand alongside TaylorMade but still kept it independent. During the announcement, fans got a glimpse of the apparel in the signature red and black colors.

However, another color was spotted during the Pro-Am, as the 48-year-old was seen wearing white Sun Day Red shoes. Unfortunately, the fans have criticized the brand for its poor choice of logo.
