Tiger Woods and Nike have been partners for a very long period of time. Their partnership dates back to 1996, but if the recent rumors are to be believed, the partnership between the two has been fractured. The contract was up for renewal between the two parties, but if reports are to be believed, that did not happen. Now, there is another shocking update regarding the Woods-Nike saga.

As per a staggering revelation that has come to light, Woods’s upcoming event could be the last time the golf pro will be seen wearing the swoosh on the greens!

Woods has been with Nike for the entirety of his professional career, which began in August 1996. The brand has stood strongly by the 15-time major winner through a lot of personal and professional battles. However, now that strong bond seems to be dissolving.

As per recent reports, Woods and Nike seem to be ending their contracts. Moreover, as per the No Laying Up podcast’s most recent episode, Woods’s next event this year, i.e., the PNC Championship, will be the last time the 5x Masters champion will don Nike’s apparel on the course.

Although Woods and Nike have been going strong for nearly 3 decades, rifts in their relationship first began appearing last April when, at the 2022 Masters, he wore Footjoy shoes instead of his regular Nike kicks. Since then, Footjoy has become his go-to shoe for all the events he’s participated in.

Considering, however, that he continued to sport the $172 billion giant’s clothes on the course, many speculated that his shoe choice was purely based on comfort owing to his many injuries. Others, however, saw it as the beginning of the end of the Woods-Nike era!

Additionally, since 2022, Nike’s financial value has taken a dip, and Footjoy’s market value has spiked. Many have further speculated this to be the billionaire golfer’s association with the brands. And now, if the split allegations are true, perhaps the situation for Nike will only get worse, and Footjoy could emerge as its replacement in the golf world.
