Getting struck with a golf ball is one of the most hurtful experiences if not the worst. One unlucky fan had to endure this pain during the 2022 JP McManus Pro-Am event. However, to lighten up the injured fan, Tiger Woods of all the people came to her rescue.

Tiger Woods is back in action at Adore Manor before heading to compete at The Open Championship next week. His existence at the event brought a lot more glamour and excitement among fans.

However, all was fun and games until one of the fans got struck by a moving golf ball at the very first hole. But, give it to Tiger Woods to turn things around!

Tiger Woods comforts injured fan

The 15-time Major Champion was competing at the 2022 JP McManus Pro-Am Tournament alongside celebrities and amateur golfers Peter Jones, Stephen Miron and Phillip Jansen. Peter Jones stepped up to take the tee shot for the first hole on the second day.

But the Dragon’s Den star’s shot headed towards the stand and struck an unlucky fan. The crowd immediately headed towards the injured fan for aid. Apart from the many spectators, Woods too went quickly to provide comfort to the fan.

Following the incident, Woods was hailed a hero all over social media and media outlets. His humble approach and love for fans is what makes him the greatest.

Moreover, before teeing off on the second day, Woods also paid tribute to the organizer of the tournament, JP McManus.

Woods performance at the Pro-Am event

Tiger Woods finished tied for 39th on Tuesday at the JP McManus Pro-Am in Limerick, Ireland, a star-studded competition that acted as a warm-up for the upcoming Open Championship. The good news for Woods was that Tuesday’s round marked a slight improvement from his opening 77 on Monday.

Before making a mistake at the 18th and recording the final of his four bogeys for the day, the highlights of the round were consecutive birdies at the par-4 15th and par-3 16th. But nobody in the audience seemed to care. On the 18th hole, he was greeted with thunderous cheers, and some supporters screamedTiger, Tiger!” as he left the last green at Adare Manor.

He withdrew in the third round of the PGA Championship in May after finishing 47th at the Masters in April. He opted not to play in the U.S. Open last month due to health issues following his accident. The 150th Open Championship, which begins on July 14 at the renowned St. Andrews, will be Woods’ next challenge.
