Perhaps it’s fitting that when Tiger Woods returns to the greens, another golfer from his family will be by his side. We are not talking about his son, Charlie Woods. Rather, her niece, Cheyenne Woods, will be at Riviera for the Woods-hosted event.
Tiger Woods is gearing up to make his competitive return to golf at the Genesis Invitational. The former World No. 1 will be playing on sponsor exemption as a host, but the $20 million purse Signature event at Riviera Country Club is more than just another tournament for Woods. The Genesis Invitational is also an avenue to carry Earl Woods’s legacy forward.
Cheyenne Woods honors her grandfather’s legacy

Tiger Woods paired up with Aaron Hicks of the Baltimore Orioles in the Pro-Am. Hicks also has another identity. The Birds outfielder is married to Cheyenne Woods. Tiger Woods’s niece was also present at the Riviera Country Club, along with her husband and the newborn. The LPGA Pro shared pictures on her Instagram handle with Woods and her husband by her side.

Woods-hosted event at the Riviera Country Club benefits his philanthropic work through the TGR Foundation. Established by the 15-time Major winner along with his father, Earl Woods, in 1996, the charity organization has the mission of empowering youth through education. “Each year, proceeds from The Genesis Invitational benefit the educational programs of TGR Foundation in Southern California,” the official website reads.
Honoring that legacy, Cheyenne Woods shared an old picture of Woods and his father Earl Woods, captioning, “One of my favorite things is seeing my Grandpa’s legacy going strong.” In her next story, which was also an old picture of Tiger Woods and Earl Woods laying the foundation for TGR Learning Lab, she captioned, “His (Earl Woods) vision has changed so many lives.” For the 82-time PGA Tour winner, though, the Riviera outing will be significant for more than one reason.

All eyes will be on Tiger Woods at Riviera
Riviera Country Club is where sixteen-year-old Tiger Woods made his PGA Tour debut at the 1992 Nissan Los Angeles Open. Woods missed the cut by six strokes as an amateur. The five-time Masters Champion has teed up at the course 14 times, but the silverware has eluded him so far.

The focus will also be on his Sun Day Red apparel. Tiger Woods, sitting alongside TaylorMade CEO, David Abeleis, unveiled his new collaboration. The brand, a nod to the iconic red tees Woods sported in the Sunday final rounds, will be his next stop after splitting with Nike. Doug Ferguson at the Associated Press reported that the 48-year-old has been wearing TaylorMade prototype shoes rather than Footjoy.
