Annika Sorenstam’s son, Will McGee, and Charlie Woods have been in strong competition with each other for the past few seasons. Although the young Woods displays unparalleled talents much like his father, McGee’s left-handed straight shots put even PGA Tour pro Justin Thomas, to the test. As his mother prepares to tee off at the US Senior Women’s Open, Will McGee shared his valuable suggestion. During the presser, when Sorenstam was asked what sort of feedback she could expect from her 11-year-old prodigy, she expressed he would share his honest feedback.
She also added, “His new saying is ‘lit the candle’, and he’s like, are you going to lit the candle this week, mommy, meaning playing well, so that’s all I have.” It is his invaluable advice for her to clinch the title at the Waverly Country Club. The 10x LPGA Tour winner admitted that she will strive to light the candle for him.
Charlie Woods and Will McGee are in strong contention against each other and if the two young players appear at the 2023 PNC Championship, it’ll be the match of a lifetime.
