Will Tiger Woods play at the 2022 Masters?
Eldrick Woods suffered a severe car crash early last year. As a result, he injured his right leg and has been away from the PGA Tour since. Having spent nine months on the sidelines, he did make a comeback to the course at the 2021 PNC Championship in December but made it abundantly clear that he is far from ready for a return to the Tour.
However, recently, during his press conference at his own event, the Genesis Invitational, he spoke about his return. He said, “I’d love to tell you I’ll be playing next week, but I don’t know when.” Moreover, with 2022 Masters just around the corner, can we expect Woods to tee it up at Augusta National?
Notably, on his road to recovery, the cause of concern for Tiger is not playing, but walking 18 holes for four consecutive rounds.

In his interview at the Genesis Invitational, Nantz tried to get some sort of answer on the possibility of Tiger playing the Masters. To his questions, Tiger replied, “I’ll be there Tuesday,” referring to the Champions dinner. However, it will not be surprising if we see Tiger playing Augusta National. Back at the end of 2009 till the 2010 Masters, he had not played an event.
Yet, he managed to finish tied for the fourth position on his comeback. But more than 10 years later, does the legend have the same grit and determination as then to come back and cruise to glory?

What are the other possibilities for Woods’ returns?
If Tiger decides to halt his comeback at Augusta in April, he still has other options left with him. Tiger can make his comeback in the summer at the Open Championship. He can also play at the 150th Open at St. Andrews, which is probably one of his favorite courses in the world, which also makes it probably one of the likely options for his return.

On his road to recovery, the GOAT seemed in good touch at the 2021 PNC Championship. In fact, he finished just behind the winners, Team Daly. But ever since the accident, Tiger’s future in golf has hung in the balance. Hence, while fans would surely fancy a quick-fire return, would be advisable for Tiger to make a comeback even before he has recovered completely?
