Tiger Woods is all set to feature in the 2024 edition of the Masters Tournament! From scouting the course weeks before the event to adopting drastic measures to improve his game, the 48-year-old seems to be leaving no stone unturned in his master plan to make a glorious return.

His desperate attempts to make his 26th appearance count elicits attention to his historic relationship with Augusta National Golf Course. His love for the event blossomed in 1995 and seems only to have grown stronger 29 years later. With a record of five victories in the event, occurring in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019, the 15X Major Champ has earned an impressive $9,619,569 from their participation. This remarkable achievement also places them in the exclusive company of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as one of only three pro golfers with at least four Masters wins.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner has made 24 cuts for the Masters out of the 25 Tournaments he has entered. Out of the 96 rounds he has played, his first win at the 1997 Masters fetched him a historic 12-stroke victory over Tom Kite, who finished with a score of 6-under-par. His second win in 2001 fetched him $1,008,000 and a 2-stroke win over David Duval. He beat Retief Goosen in 2002 and Chris DiMarco in 2005 to add two more majors to his illustrious list of 15 major wins.

His most recent victory came at the 2019 Masters, where he topped the leaderboard over Xander Schauffele, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka, and won with one master stroke and a score of 13-under-par. This performance fetched him $2,070,000 in the form of the winner’s payout!

But what about his worst performance to date? Apart from his two withdrawals in 1996 and 2023, the GOAT, with a scoring average of 71 at the Masters, had his worst year performance-wise in 2022 when he finished at his record lowest place of 47, with a high total of 301!

How has Tiger Woods been preparing for the 2024 Masters Tournament?

A lot is at stake for Tiger Woods at the 2024 Masters Tournament. His performance this year can be a make-or-break step in his fastly downhill-headed career. After making multiple WDs and failing to deliver on his “one event a month” promise, a much-expected WD from Augusta National GC would contribute to the already exacerbated rumors of the end of the Tiger Era.

In attempts to curb the same, Woods seems to have adopted a fool-proof plan that involves working hard in the gym, eating right, and even eliminating s*x and choosing celibacy! It has been a fail-safe approach adopted by the likes of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, among other athletes, to limit all distractions prior to major performances. If all goes well, this approach may lead him to success. However, fans seem to have their share of doubts in this regard. Stay tuned to know which estimation will probably prevail!
