Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are the two big names in golf who do not get along well. However, Mickelson’s wife, Amy, and Woods’ ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn, were opposite their partners. And the proof was the 2013 Presidents Cup.

Woods and Mickelson have never been friends with each other, and it has been evident for over 20 years. Even though they were civil to each other, their rivalry is why they have been in the limelight. The PGA pro and LIV pro have always gone out of their way to criticize one another. There is no way anyone has witnessed them together or even having a conversation. Still, their better halves chose to be civil.

The relationship between the two pro golfers has always been the highlight of the media. However, these rival golfers have never been titled as friends. The kind of conflict these two outstanding golfers have is inevitable. They have been fighting since the beginning and Mickelson joining LIV was like adding fuel to the fire.

We all know how much Woods dislikes the Saudi-backed circuit. He was never in favor of players leaving the PGA. And now, Mickelson is an integral part of Greg Norman’s tour, which has added to the rivalry between the two. The 2013 Presidents Cup was one of the finest examples of their differences. However, something unexpected happened too.

The unexpected that happened under the nose of Tiger Woods

No matter how much dislike Woods and Mickelson have for each other, they have contained it. They did not pass their rivalry on to their partners. The former girlfriend of Woods, Lindsey Vonn, was using a cart once to move around the golf course during the 2013 Presidents Cup. However, she got stuck and could not pull the cart up the hill. Lefty’s wife, Amy, came as a savior. She helped her push the cart and assisted in getting uphill off the course.

Vonn also thanked Amy while she shoved her cart up the hill. However, she almost clipped a spectator standing near the rope. This gesture became the epitome of a selfless being. Despite her husband’s rivalry, Amy helped Woods’ ex because it was the need of the time. She kept every negativity aside and acted responsibly.

These women were forging a new bond at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. At the same time, their partners were trying to steer clear of each other. They denied being partners at the Presidents Cup. Mickelson and Woods only paired together once in the 2004 Ryder Cup. The repercussions were not good, and the American team suffered.
