Considering his stardom, it goes without saying that his marriage became the talk of the town back then. However, little did the world know about the involvement of his father, Earl Woods, and former golfer Jack Nicklaus in Wood’s marriage. Three years prior to Woods’s Marriage, in 2001, he was left in a decisive position after learning about the polar opposite views of his father and Nicklaus.
Earl Woods hoped to see Tiger Woods away from marriage for a little longer
Scrolling through the life history of Woods, it is well known that it was his father who taught him golf. Being a coach to an already successful son, it goes without saying that Earl hoped to see Tiger continue concentrating on golf for the next couple of years. By 2001, Woods had achieved much of his professional success. At 25 years of age, Woods was already a 2-time Masters champion, 2-time PGA Championship winner, A US Open and an Open Championship winner. However, neither of the victories seemed to have satisfied Earl. Going ahead in the conversation, he said, “Because he has a lot to accomplish in the game of golf.” “And let’s face it, a wife can sometimes be a deterrent to a good game of golf,” he further added.
Concluding his words, he ended by asserting, “The level he’s at, the finite little problems like that would destroy him.”
