It is often said that children take after their parents. This is proving to be certainly true for Tiger Woods who gets his generosity from his mother Kultida Woods. Tiger Woods has leveraged his success in golf to make a significant impact through philanthropy.

He established various charity funds and foundations like the TGR Foundation. However, when it comes to his mother’s home country, Thailand, Tiger puts his hands up. And there is a valid argument. Like any other person, Mrs Woods also has a deep connection with her home country and according to the Masters winner, he can not understand Thailand better than his mother!

Kultida’s deep connection to Thailand and her commitment to helping her home country have been a driving force in the charitable endeavors undertaken by her son Tiger Woods in the region.

In an interview, she mentioned how she went to her son asking to help out in Thailand and he responded by saying “Mom, Thailand is your department. Go ahead and take care of business.”

After receiving the green signal from her son, she went on to select two schools as a target for her philanthropic effort. The first is a Buddhist Girl’s Convent School providing education and support for orphaned and abused girls. The reason she picked out schools was because she herself studied in boarding school all her life and knew the needs of the children present there.

The second was the Ratchaburi Home for Mentally Disabled Children, an institution that caters to children with special needs. Her desire to give back to her home country has been a driving force behind these charitable initiatives.
