Phil Mickelson is a man of many things. He is one of the best golfers of all time, with more than 50 wins worldwide, including 6 majors. He is also a loving husband and father who takes time away to be with his family. However, fashion is not one of the strong suits of the golfer.

Although it was not always the case, Mickelson shocked everyone with his fashion sense at the 2018 Masters Tournament. He showed up to the practice session at Augusta National wearing the checkered button-down shirt.
Even though it is not a bad-looking shirt, it is not something one would want to see one of the best golfers in the world wearing in Masters. The fans found his attire funny as most of them compared him to an office worker.

Even Tiger Woods didn’t approve of his fellow golfer’s attire. “I was giving him a little bit of grief about that,” Woods said, according to San Weinmann of Golf Digest. “The only thing that was missing was a tie.”

Interestingly, Mickelson wasn’t shaken by any of the trolls he received because of his shirt. Probably because he was wearing a sponsored cloth. “These dress shirts not only look incredible but are so comfortable and versatile I can actually play golf in them,” Lefty said. “It’s remarkable to have a dress shirt I can wear from a meeting to the course,” he added.
Mickelson partnered with menswear brand Mizzen+Main in 2018. He also owns a stake in the company. Notably, Mizzen+Main is one of the brands that hasn’t terminated its sponsorship deal with the golfer after his controversial remarks on the Saudi-backed league.
Phil Mickelson chose to wear dark clothes in the LIV Golf Invitational Series!
The inaugural event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series was held in London from June 9 to 11. And Phil Mickelson wore a dark attire throughout the event.

“I’ve won three times wearing a black shirt,” he had once said the reason behind wearing dark clothes to an event. “It also helps me get more aggressive,” he further added.
The golfer wore all black to the LIV Golf event. However, it didn’t help Mickelson to win the event. He could only secure a T33 position after the 54-hole event in a field of 48 players. He scored an overall 10-over par.
