Many notable NBA stars avidly follow the game of golf, one of them being Karl-Anthony Towns. The young basketball player looks like a legend in the making. So far, the 27-year-old has already been selected for NBA All-Stars for three consecutive years.
It’s no secret that Karl-Anthony Towns is a golf lover. The former NBA Rookie of the Year recently made an appearance on the podcast The Loop which talks about the ins and outs of the golfing world. Here the player expressed his love for golf and one golfer in particular.
Towns reveals the name of his idol from the golfing world

During the podcast, Towns revealed how he idolizes Tiger Woods and regards him as his ultimate sporting icon. The 27-year-old stated, “I want to play around with Tiger Woods.” When asked about what is in store in the basketball player’s golfing bucket list, he only had one name up there: Tiger Woods.
Towns gleefully answered the question and said, “If I have a bucket list, number one will be Tiger Woods. Number two will be Tiger Woods. And number three is Tiger Woods. I will say that’s on my bucket list.”
Town hopes to share a few moments on the golfing greens with his idol in the future, “I think it’s gonna happen one day, I think.” The interviewer went on to ask the Minnesota Timberwolves power forward whether he had gotten a chance to meet his role model or seen him in action, to which Towns replied, “I have not met him and I haven’t seen him in action.”
But the Woods fan firmly believes that someday their paths will cross and has kept the thoughts in his prayers. As a young kid, Towns said he could relate to Woods and was truly inspired by the 82-time PGA tour winner and cited him as one of the main reasons for loving the game of golf.

KAT went on to speak more about the game and shared an anecdote in which, after playing golf for the first time, he realized how intricate and tough golf can be and came to appreciate and admire the sport more.
The 3X NBA All-Star went on to call golf his biggest addiction. Towns also spoke about how whenever he gets time, he hops on any opportunity to have a swing around a golf course. The basketball player spoke about his process of learning golf and how, through many trials and errors, he taught himself the game.
