In the era of Tiger Woods’s dominance, there were a few golfers who came out and proved their excellent golfing expertise. One of the names on the list is Rory McIlroy. The 35-year-old debuted in 2007 and since then has won numerous titles. His 40 career victories include 4 major titles and 26 wins in the PGA Tour.

Despite the great career of the Northern Irishman, there was something that he could not overpass as compared to his amateur career. He recorded 10 hole-in-one out of which he first came in when he was 9 years old. Even though the list of his aces isn’t as big as a professional, it seems he’s on a roll with a new addition in 2025. Here are all the aces McIlroy recorded as a professional.

After almost 7 and a half years of turning pro, the Irishman recorded his first event ace at the 2015 Abu Dhabi Championship and the third at the event. On the 15th hole with a 9-iron, McIlroy, with the apt distance of 177 yards, reached the hole with ease. The precise shot of the golfer after hitting the green spinned right towards the hole and smoothly went into the hole.

Even fellow golfer, Rickie Fowler, came in to congratulate him for his achievement. Despite his first hole-in-one, he fell short of winning the title. With a stroke difference, Gary Stal won the event, while McIlroy was placed second with a total of -19 and -18, respectively.

Besides his professional career’s first ace in 2015, the golfer didn’t record an ace in the PGA Tour, not until 2023. During the opening round of the 2023 Travelers Championship at hole 8th, he recorded a feat that most of the fans still remember. Teeing off the 218-yard, par-3 at TPC River Highlands, he shot the perfect trajectory with the ball rolling at the ideal speed till it found the cup.

His playing partner Tom Kim and Viktor Hovland joined in to celebrate the historic shot for the golfer’s career. Even being his first on the PGA Tour, he, unlike the other golfers, threw the ball in the spectator’s area. He shared with the reporter, saying, “I threw it away to someone. I’m not sentimental, I don’t care. I’d rather have trophies than golf balls.”

2025 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

Despite the long wait for two aces, the golfer isn’t planning to keep the record the same. After almost two years, the four-time major winner was seen adding another achievement to the list. At the recent appearance and first of his 2025 PGA Tour schedule, he recorded his third hole-in-one.

Unlike the other two, this time Rory McIlroy didn’t rely on the ball to spin or roll toward the hole. Instead, he went on to hit the ball directly into the hole. Hitting the par-3 15th hole from a distance of 119 yards, he used a wedge for the perfect shot. With the amazing display of his precision, fans and even fellow golfers were seen celebrating the third ace of his career.
