Tuesday’s primetime simulator golf still served up a thrilling show at SoFi Center. Justin Rose stole the spotlight as the heartbeat of the top team in TGL so far—Los Angeles Golf Club. He proved age is just a number by leading from the front and sinking clutch putts. Rose also handled the crowd like a pro. LAGC (2-0-0) defeated Boston Common Golf (0-1-1) 6-2 after getting out to an insurmountable lead over the first nine holes. But you see, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Some things went wrong too, and here is a list of a few of them.
1. ‘Invalid Reading’ killed the fun
Technical issues plagued the TGL match between Los Angeles GC and Boston Common. During LA’s 6-2 win, a shot from Tommy Fleetwood was not accurately tracked by the super-sized TGL screen at SoFi Center, confusing all involved. The Englishman’s ball seemed to trickle along the ground as if he had topped it, leaving him, Rory McIlroy, and others bewildered.

“What just happened?” McIlroy exclaimed, while Collin Morikawa joked that the ball had actually gone in the hole, and Justin Rose quipped that Fleetwood had hit it “too flush.” A message eventually popped up on the screen saying ‘Invalid Reading,’ and Fleetwood was asked to hit again, resulting in the first-ever mulligan in TGL.

Fortunately, TGL’s rulebook had anticipated such technical glitches, allowing the referee or booth official to deem a shot an “inaccurate computation” and invoke a re-hit to maintain the integrity of the match.

2. Keegan Bradley could not keep it in
Keegan Bradley was fuming, and his bristling mustache said it all. The 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain was livid with his team’s performance, and he didn’t mince words about it. But instead of just talking, Bradley backed it up with action, single-handedly putting his team’s only two points on the board. He played with a fire and passion that was infectious, and it’s exactly what TGL needs more of. Bradley’s ability to channel his frustration into a positive performance showcases his mental toughness and competitive drive. Players like him surely make TGL exciting to watch.
3. The fan who wouldn’t quit

There was one fan who took the cake for the most annoying or excited spectator, however, you want to put it, the guy who kept counting down “3, 2, 1…” in the middle of the players’ backswing. Even with plenty of time left on the shot clock. Justin Rose finally had enough after sinking a hole-winning birdie putt on the 7th, giving the fan an ‘I-can’t-hear-you gesture’, which thankfully silenced the joker.
