We already know that last year, Greg Norman made an official announcement about LIV golfers being allowed to wear shorts even in tournaments. And as the word became official, Phil Mickelson wasted no time flaunting his calf muscles amid the LIV event in Boston. However, he garnered severe criticism from the golf community, as the dress code on the pitch is a highly subjective topic.

Now, days after the $3 billion merger has been signed, the legendary Tiger Woods is also seemingly following in the footsteps of Phil Mickelson. Let’s dive into the story!

We already know that Tiger Woods has been the biggest critic of Greg Norman’s Saudi-backed league. Even when the $3 billion merger was signed, Woods, along with other PGA Tour compatriots, was in the dark. As a breakthrough movement for the same, the 15-time major winner was promoted to his new position as a player director on the PGA Tour policy board.

After assuming his new role, the Hall of Famer is supposed to abide by the protocols of the league. But perhaps he defied one of the PGA Tour’s etiquettes already by following in the footsteps of Phil Mickelson.

On Tuesday, an Instagram post was uploaded by ‘twspot’, a fan community dedicated to the GOAT of golf. First, the video focused on his son Charlie, then gradually the camera moved toward Tiger Woods. He was observing the game, standing beside a golf cart and resting his leg on the same. In that video, there was another uncanny fact.

This league will be launched next year and has joined hands with the PGA Tour, which owns a minority stake in the league. And Tiger Woods, along with Rory McIlroy, are the majority shareholders in the league. According to the season schedule of the league, there’ll be a total of 15 events that precede the semi-final, followed by the championship-winning match. Players like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Justin Thomas have confirmed their participation already.
