“This Is Why LIV Players Are Better”: Fans Blast European Pro As His “Weird Flex” Moment From Golf Event Goes Viral

Golf is called a gentlemen’s game because it’s played with a sense of social integrity and camaraderie. But sometimes this camaraderie turns ugly and it evolves into netizens criticizing a player. The most recent case in hand is a European pro player getting hate for stalling the game.

This is, however, not the first time fans have taken shots at a pro player. Even the legendary golfer Tiger Woods is not safe from criticism. But the hate the European pro is getting might not even be his fault entirely. And this event stems back from March 2023.

Why is a European pro becoming the center of criticism?

In a recently gone viral clip, fans condemned Robert MacIntyre for his actions in March 2023. The European pro was playing in the Magical Kenya Open on the Muthaiga golf course. But during one of his shots, MacIntyre was interrupted by the Kenyan Air Force! The two-time European Tour winner got ready to take the shot three times but backed down due to noise disruptions.

This act of backing down from the shot three times has landed the European pro in the line of fire of the netizens. A fan even went on to state that LIV Players are better at handling these types of situations. The comment read, “This is why LIV players are better. The music they play is 1000000x louder than those choppers.” Many other netizens also joined in on the debate. Some took the side of MacIntyre and defended him while others took shots at him.

Fans give mixed reactions to the stalling

A fan called out the actions of MacIntyre, stating, “I think you have to be able to ignore that as a professional.” 

Another netizen had a similar instance related to the European pro. The fan said, “Bobby gets thrown off by the slightest sound or movement. Followed him in Rome at the Ryder Cup for a bit and I was afraid to breathe. Got the job done though.”

One netizen empathized with MacIntyre but gave him a tip stating, “It is unfortunate…. but You have to “bear down” and focus…. then SEND IT… “. Another fan had a cheeky remark, calling it a “Weird flex but ok.”
