Golf courses surprisingly witness a lot more than just golfers talking to the greens. The luscious green courses are also home to many animals. Hence, people have, over time, sighted many strange creatures. From alligators to raccoons, nothing is ever unexpected on the greens. And in Australia, one golfer witnessed that firsthand this week.

While he and his group of friends were trying to enjoy a relaxing round on the course, their plans were derailed thanks to a slithery, venomous surprise. And the hiding spot of the trespasser on the greens left many, including the golfer himself, shaken!

The wild and venomous encounter by the Aussie

The country of Australia is well known for its special ecosystem. The golf courses on the land boast a picturesque and beautiful image. Nevertheless, there are times when golfers find themselves in dangerous situations due to this beautiful nature. And recently, one golfer, along with his colleagues, found a venomous snake hiding in the hole while playing the game.

As the player and his friends made their way to the cup to take the ball out of it soon after he had holed it, they were surprised to find that they were not alone on the course. The group found a red-bellied black snake coiled around the pole inside the hole. It is possible the ophidian may have taken refuge there thanks to the hot and windy climate, as the video showed the course to be extremely breezy and warm.

The post was uploaded not too long ago on Instagram by the social media handle of Golf Digest. It showed the snake poking its head out and slowly slithering away when the golfers came near it. The post was shared with the caption “Australia golf is built different.” as the handle made sure to highlight the funny side of the incident.

This is not the first time that a golf course has seen animals, snakes, or even birds on it. Sometime back, a Reddit post talked about the user’s experience with geese on the grounds. The golfer on the course then thought that they wouldn’t pose a problem, but to his surprise, one of his wayward shots hit the bird on its back.
