It has been a year since LIV Golf entered the picture. Still, many people have not accepted the League as a circuit that is improving the game. However, the tables have turned. The LIV Golf Orlando has already hit the ground and is making history. And when the Saudi-backed circuit is discussed, undoubtedly, the PGA Tour will be part of the conversation. A recent Twitter post making an unexpected comparison between the two Tours is going viral. The golf world has also reacted to it out of disbelief.
As the LIV Golf League surpasses a PGA Tour event, there is a debate in the golf world
Sam Humphreys has posted four still images from the ongoing LIV Golf Orlando. He drew a comparison between the LIV Golf event and the PGA Tour event. Stating the facts, he said, “I’ll say it…because no one else seems to want to…LIV has a bigger crowd than The Valero today.” Then he shared another set of images writing, “more context.” In the picture, one can see that many people were on the grounds of Orange County National, cheering the LIV defectors as they swung their clubs, hitting the ball.

The comment section was divided brutally. Many fans were sad that LIV Golf had taken over the audience count of the American Tour. But at the same time, many fans felt it was not the right comparison. LIV Golf Orlando is a mainstream event of Greg Norman‘s Tour, whereas The Valero Texas Open is not the same as the Genesis Invitational or Arnold Palmer Invitational. They wanted the comparison of the same level. Here are a few of the reactions.
This is so sad. Where was the pic when all big guys were playing at the players, an event no one plays week before the masters! Jesus

Please, have them go up against the Players or the API, apple's to apple's and check out the crowds and the ratings. Yikes.

The field at the Valero is awful

I was flipping back n forth all afternoon and saw the exact opposite. Kuchar had a bigger crowd following than Brooks from what I saw.

You picked the 1st hole of that exhibition tour which is where all the beer tents are, and the 4th at the Valero. Beyond real data compare the 1st hole of both and then make these ridiculous tweets

I would hope. It’s a week before a major. Most anyone who means anything on the Tour is preparing for the masters. LIV folks are obligated to be there.
Massive difference here

PGA Tour is already in the puddle, given the unhappiness of the fans. They have announced that the WGC Match Play won’t be part of the 2024 schedule. Therefore, this year was the last one. It did not settle well with the fans. Even PGA Tour pro-Rory McIlroy was unhappy with the decision and said it was a ‘shame.’ However, he also gave a ray of hope when he mentioned that the announcement was done for the 2024 schedule. Possibly 2025 schedule will see the return of the Match Play.
How is it going at the LIV Golf event?
Many of the players competing at Augusta National are putting in extra work as the golf world gets ready to travel down Magnolia Lane. For the 18 LIV golfers who will be in Augusta, Georgia, next week, they are teeing it up this weekend at Orange County National. With a 6-under 66 in the second round in Orlando, Brooks Koepka seized the lead. Sebastian Munoz, who is at 9 under par, is three strokes behind him at 12 under. The four-time major winner, Koepka, would be the first golfer to win two LIV competitions if he prevailed on Sunday. Who do you think will win this event?
