Why did DeChambeau join the LIV Golf league?
DeChambeau was happily playing on the PGA Tour until he received an offer from Greg Norman and his team that he couldn’t refuse. When asked about the reasons behind his decision to join LIV, he said, “It was a business decision, first and foremost,”. Unlike other golfers who completely denied that they were joining in for the money, DeChambeau wanted to be honest about it.

For other reasons, he mentioned that LIV Golf’s format would give him time to spend outside the field. “There was a lot of financials to it and a lot of time,” he stated. “I get to have a life outside of the game of golf as well.” DeChambeau’s decision of joining the LIV Golf Tour has made many of his fans sad. However, he still wishes to play on the PGA Tour while staying in the LIV Golf league. But his proposal has no meaning unless the PGA Tour lifts the ban it has imposed on the LIV Golf defectors.
