Erik Van Rooyen has managed to place himself at the 3rd spot on the leaderboard after registering scores of 68(-4), 64(-8), and 66(-6) on the first three days, respectively. Moreover, currently in the 125th position on the FedEx Cup rankings, he is all set to be fully exempt for the 2024 season if he finishes strong this week.
In an interview after the third round, the golfer was seen mentioning how “it would mean everything” to him if he could place at the top of the standings for the tournament. However, adding to his confession, the South African divulged how he has a friend back home “that’s really sick,” all the while expressing how he just wants to go see him.
