Tiger Woods was the talk of the town in 2012 because of the book by his former coach Hank Haney. The duo worked together on the golf course from 2004 to 2010. The former no. 1 was not happy with the book ‘The Big Miss: My Years Coaching Tiger Woods’ by Haney and called it ‘unprofessional’.

Why did Tiger Woods dislike the book by Hank Haney?

The book by Haney had all the details and experience of his working as a coach for Tiger Woods. However, according to Woods, the book was unprofessional, and he was highly disappointed. He treated Haney as a friend and did not expect him to spill all their secrets the way he did. Woods told ESPN, “I think it’s unprofessional and very disappointing, especially because it’s someone I worked with and trusted as a friend.

Haney was ready to defend his hard work and said the time spent with Woods was special to him. According to Haney, it was his memories, and he had all the right to relive them. Because the memories belonged to him and Woods, the golfer does not have any patent on them. Haney said“I’m always asked about it, I thought, they’re my memories too, and I want to share them.

In defense, Haney said people often asked him about his time with the PGA tour member. The idea of writing the book was quite simple to him. Working with an outstanding personality intrigued him to talk about his greatness. That is what Haney did by writing the book, and he had no regrets. There is no such code not to write a book as it was not a doctor-patient relationship.

Why did Haney leave Woods’ side?

Haney loved his six years of coaching Woods. However, he thought that in 2010; it was time for him to step down as Woods’ coach. Everything has a time and place to happen, and finally, it was time for him to leave. Haney was relieved because it was a simple job for him to coach the legend for years.

He texted Woods and informed him about his resignation. And that is how it ended. However, they ended the relationship on good terms.

However, the fans saw the relationship between the duo end. After Woods’ second-round 79 at the Quail Hollow Championship, the association was in its last terms. It was his worst round as a pro golfer on the course of the USA, as it knocked him out of the tournament.
