Everyone wants to be remembered for good things in life. But when asked about what he thinks of his legacy, Woods had an unexpected answer! “The greatest thing that could happen is to not be remembered,” he said. And he had a very special message behind what he claimed.
Woods used Michael Jordan’s example to explain his statement. “What I mean by that is, the kids right now, they don’t know that Michael Jordan played. They see a Jumpman [logo] and they think, that’s so cool,” he said. “…really young kids, single digits in age, they have no idea who Michael Jordan was, but the Jumpman logo is cool.”

And he used the same analogy to explain what went on with kids at his learning center, the TGR Foundation. “My learning center, kids go through it and they don’t know who I am. They don’t know what I’ve done. But it’s a safe haven for them to learn and grow,” he added.
While many might not understand what the golf legend meant, it was definitely a strong thing to say. Woods’ stand was simple – no matter whether people remember you by your name or not, your work should be enough to define you.
