LIV’s event in Australia was a big success, as hordes of fans rushed to Adelaide’s The Grange Golf Club to catch their favorite golfers in action. From tens of thousands of spectators to a party hole with a DJ, it was a spectacle unlike any other.
Recently, however, reports surfaced that some members of the host club were unhappy with its condition post-event. This has brought the Saudi-backed league under further scrutiny. Now, the golf club itself has responded to the claims, inciting diverse reactions from fans.

The excitement surrounding LIV Adelaide was so much so that it even took the players in the league by surprise. Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Cam Smith were among the many LIV pros who expressed satisfaction with the event’s success.
But, LIV became the topic of controversy yet again after a report from an Adelaide-based “The Advertiser” came to light. Per the news outlet, all the beer around the watering hole and temporary installations had caused much deterioration of the course.

Barry Linke, general manager of The Grange, has shared that the course is in good condition now. The club was also delighted with the global recognition brought about by the LIV event. They further pointed to the results of its member survey, which saw an 86 percent satisfaction rate and a mere 7 percent dissatisfaction with hosting LIV Golf.
Per The Grange’s reply, they have also witnessed an increase in applications for membership since the event ended. The club’s response has further fueled the LIV vs. PGA debate. Fans on Twitter have also reacted strongly, calling out the alleged agenda against Greg Norman’s breakaway league.
Fans express disappointment over treatment of LIV Golf
It isn’t the first time LIV Golf has found itself at the center of a controversy. This time, however, many golf fans have spoken out in support of the league. One fan even commended the Saudi-backed faction for bringing forth better-quality events.

This tweet should read "Grange Golf called us out on our rubbish 'reporting'"
LIV Golf is bringing us way better events than anyone else has.
Stop running this broken narrative and support what's supporting Aussie golf, no matter the tour.

Another fan showered praise on Australian Golf Digest for sharing the “real story.” They even aimed a jibe at the rival PGA Tour, which has been involved in an ugly battle with LIV for months.
To all the YoYos who were beating this nothing into something. Here is the truth. #Adelaide loves #LIVgolf #Golf https://t.co/qqeSUMnnjb

Well done AGD for telling the real story …Heh @PGATOUR how much did you pay to have a bullshit story written? Probably took the money from Rory’s PIP crap.

The initial reporting of the event has also received considerable flak from golf enthusiasts. One fan, in particular, had a strong response to the entire fiasco, saying that the organizers at The Grange deserved an apology.
A click bait headline was more important to GD than the truth. Using the words of a member who knows nothing of the hard work done by the superintendent and staff to recover the golf course. Their article was an insult to those efforts and they deserve an apology and a retraction https://t.co/dV1ZXkjw6v

So US golf media hype a lie rather than perform basic journalism and ask the GM of the club in question. https://t.co/ngMLUjXepv

LIV Golf will undoubtedly be happy with the outpouring of support from fans of the sport. After all, their rivalry with the PGA Tour is set to pick up steam with the year’s second Major taking place later this month.
