The mic fail of Patrick Cantlay
During the 17th tee at Kapalua Plantation Course, Cantlay seemed to have fallen in love with the Hawaiian weather. “I’ve been waiting for this weather for 40 years”, he said to his caddie Adam Hayes and fellow round partner Jon Rahm.
As it’s Kapalua week, here’s another throwback to this beauty of a hot mic from Cantlay:
“These pampered f-ks need to play”. “2 more holes then we can get a Mai Tai.”

However, later the golfer shared some explicit words, ignoring the fact that he was mic’d up. “These pampered f***s need to play”, said Patrick Cantlay, though it is still unclear who he was referring to. The 30-year-old then disclosed his plans after the 18th hole as he told his caddie, “Two more holes then we can get a Mai Tai”.

Mai Tai is a popular cocktail in Kapalua. Hayes joked with the golfer by saying, “I’ll get my Mai Tai; you can get your water”. However, Cantlay didn’t approve of this plan as he replied, “Don’t spoil it for me”. The three-year-old video resurfaced through the Flushing It account on Twitter.
Fans reminisced about the incident and shared their joy with the golfer. One fan tweeted, “The day I became a Cantley fan”, while another wrote, “He is just saying out loud what every other player is thinking!” Though many regarded it as a controversial incident, the moment was captured when the broadcast had just returned from a commercial break.
