On a recent episode of her podcast, Playing a Round, Spiranac was heard discussing slow play and how long a golf round should be, ideally. According to the influencer, with her experience on the course, a round should not last more than five hours.
The 30-year-old referenced to her game and remarked, “You know one more thing, Sam, we played as a foursome, we took our time we had the best day. They were getting drinks, eating hot dogs, we played in under four hours, easily. You have to try actively, try to play slow. We took our time because I think sometimes when we talk about slow play, a lot of people are like, but I paid for this, and I’m gonna take my time. You can take your time, there’s no reason that golf should take over four hours and 20 minutes. There’s no reason that it should ever, ever even reach five hours.”
Recently, the former professional golfer played a round of golf herself, which also garnered media attention.
Despite Spiranac’s claims that her game went for less than four hours, the lethargic game play has undoubtedly drawn criticism from her. Spiranac unquestionably appears to be against taking a long time to finish a round.
Spiranac’s reference to her own game of golf
A few days ago, the social media influencer announced on Twitter that she had played a round of golf. The once-professional golfer tweeted about their entire on-field experience. It had everything, including food, beverages, playing time, and the final score. She also mentioned in her tweet that they completed the game in under four hours. Spiranac also criticized the notion of concluding a round in five hours in the tweet. The tweet stated: “No reason at all for a round to ever be over 5 hours.”

Had a great day on the golf course today. Didn’t rush, had fun, plenty of drinks and hot dogs to go around AND we played under 4 hours easily. It take effort to play slow. No reason at all for a round to ever be over 5 hours.

Despite consuming food and beverages and enjoying herself, Spiranac managed to complete the round in less than four hours. The media and golf fans were soon drawn to that tweet. Spiranac has now made specific mention of the game time in her podcast. It’s obvious that the 30-year-old would prefer the game to end in less than four hours. There will undoubtedly be a lot more to say about this subject.
