Tiger Woods and Greg Norman are two important entities in the golf world. However, they do not stand together but against each other on rival tours. The duo does not have any enmity; however, the existence of LIV golf began it all. Despite not interacting much, these golfers always had their views about each other. And in 2015, the LIV CEO, Norman, candidly expressed his views about Woods. He talked about a particular incident that would be slamming in the face of the PGA pro.

The great white shark of golf does not hate G.O.A.T. Woods, nor does Woods has any grudges against him. However, when more golfers left the PGA tour legacy behind, it did not set well with Woods. He was angry and disheartened. On the other hand, Norman invited the former number one to join the LIV league, offering a considerable amount. Woods denied it immediately and pledged his loyalty to the American tour.

However, their rivalry took another direction when Woods commented publically about Norman and asked him to resign as CEO of LIV.Only then would any discussion will take place regarding the future of LIV golfers at major events. It became the talk of the town last year. However, they both are still standing firm in their beliefs.

Why was Greg Norman unhappy with Tiger Woods?

Way before their rivalry, Norman used to admire Woods and his skills. But in 2015, he narrated the story of a 2013 incident where Woods was found guilty. During Maters 2013, the former number one golfer took an illegal drop. Norman saw it, everyone did, and he was unhappy about it. The shark of golf loves the sport a lot. He did not support anything that disrespects the legacy. Therefore, he said that he knew it was an illegal drop.

Therefore, he expressed on TV also that it was not the right thing to do. He said, ‘You can’t do that! That’s not right.’ Norman added that he would have gone on air and repeated the same. He has devoted himself to protecting the game. No matter how good, bad, or famous a player one was, the sport will always be above everyone. Expressing his views, he said, “I’m there to protect the sport because I think it is incumbent on me as a former player that I protect the sport and say that no matter how good you are, the sport is always above you.

In the second round of the 2013 Masters, the professional golfer made an illegal drop. That was beyond debate because everyone knew the truth. The fact that Woods acknowledged during his post-round interviews that he dropped the ball “2 yards further back” than the original divot made while playing his third shot on the par-5 15th hole makes it beyond dispute.
