The Solheim Cup is just upon us, and the nervousness amongst the golfers and fans pertaining to the event is rising off the charts. In just less than a week, the European squad, and the American squad will meet each other in Spain. The American team will not only be competing for the win this year but also for the glory, as if they lose, it will be their third continuous defeat in the tournament. 

With such high stakes for the game, the tension is bound to be boiling. In such moments, it becomes very important for the golfers to stay relaxed, and blow off some steam once in a while. One such Solheim Cup member from the European squad is doing just this.

Solheim Cup member takes it lightly before the Spain showdown

Caroline Hedwall is a 7-time LET winner and has made four appearances in the Solheim Cup, one of them being historic in its own sense. The 34-year-old star will be making her fifth appearance in the tournament this year in Spain and is all geared up.

But before she actually sets foot in the tense atmosphere, she is blowing some steam off of her with a fun session with the Solheim Cup officials. In a recent video shared the by official page of the tournament on Instagram, Hedwall is answering some interesting, and hysterical questions.

The first question was in a way homage to the Swedish golfer going to Spain, and in a very Spanish accent, she said “Gracias” is the first Spanish word that comes to her mind. She answered a few more questions such as her preferences for being at the range or gym, being an early bird or a night owl, her favorite song, classic PB&J as the perfect on-the-course snack, and much more. 

The Swedish golfer also shared that her favorite thing to do during the off-season is to engage herself in a random home project. She also revealed that if not a golfer, she would be a professional skier. In the last question in the video, she described herself as “competitive.”

Will Caroline Hedwall be able to recreate her historic record this year?

It was the year 2013, and Hedwall was appearing in the European squad for the second time. The team won in 2013 with a stunning 18-10 score, but the golfer also achieved a landmark feat of her own as well. She became the first-ever golfer in the Cup’s history to win all five of her matches.

She won two of her foursome matches partnered up with Anna Nordqvist, and then won both of her fourballs matches as well with her compatriot Caroline Masson. On Sunday, she made a four-birdie and ensured that the trophy was being lifted by the European squad.
