Months of hard work done by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has finally paid off. After so many disruptions, from natural calamities causing damage to budget issues, the TGL is finally all set to be launched. The first night of the new league’s action will be hosted on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. TGL is an innovative, tech-driven golf league that will be hosted at the cutting-edge SoFi Center.
More than just a sports arena, the SoFi Center represents the heart of a new era in golf, brought to life through its partnership with TGL—a futuristic league powered by technology and supported by some of the biggest names in the sport. This article explores the SoFi Center and its pivotal role in TGL’s mission to revolutionize the golfing experience. Here is all you need to know about the special venue of the newly launched league.
All the action will unfold at the custom-built SoFi Center, a steel-supported venue located on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The six teams, made up of top PGA TOUR talent, will compete in a 15-match regular season, culminating in semifinals and finals, all within the 250,000-square-foot arena. The SoFi Center is an unprecedented, tech-powered venue designed specifically for golf, offering fans an intimate and unique “greenside” experience. With 1,500 seats surrounding TGL’s field of play, which measures 97 yards long and 50 yards wide—roughly the size of a football field—attendees will enjoy a close-up view of the action like never before.

But well, that is not all for the venue. What makes it all the more different is the giant digital screen which will be used as the ground. That has also been the talk of the golf world.
The Simulator Screen of the TGL
The simulator screen is another pivotal part of the matches at the SoFi Center. The players of each team will begin teeing off from real grass tee boxes and will be playing in the virtual holes, which have been projected on the simulator screen. The screen is a whopping 64’x53’ in size, which makes us 24 times larger than the regular simulator screens that are available for golf in the market. The moment the teams reach inside 50 yards, they will be moved to live action and have to finish each of the holes within the GreenZone. Now what is the GreenZone exactly?

Well, it’s a 22,475 sq foot short game complex. It helps in transforming between the holes during the match. The GreenZone will be an advanced technology that will create a rather unique challenge in each of the holes for the members of the team. This also includes a turntable that rotates the green, and there are also three bunkers which forces us to change that approach angle. Each of the shots will be showcased live in the Center. Sounds interesting and one of a kind, doesn’t it? That’s all the fuss about the TGL. Are you excited to witness golf in technology? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below!
