The new PGA Tour season is here, and with it comes the usual excitement. But there’s one thing that never changes, it’s the unpredictable weather. The first day of The Sentry went off without a hitch, with the sun shining down on the players. However, the US National Weather Service did issue a Maui Windward West Alert, running from 6:00 PM on January 1 until 6:00 AM on Friday. So, yes, Hawaii is giving us a little reminder that it’s still winter, and things can get a bit breezy. So, what will the second day look like?
Round 2, so far, is looking like it could be a bit of a mixed bag weather-wise. It’s going to be partly sunny and mild, which is great for golf, but there will be a few gusty winds kicking in at 26 km/h. There’s also a 25% chance of rain, but no thunderstorms to worry about (thankfully).
The cloud cover should be around 32%, so it’s not all sunshine, but it’s definitely not bad enough to cause any big headaches for the players. All in all, it’s one of those days where the weather won’t steal the show, but it’ll keep things interesting!

For Friday’s second round, Rafael Campos, Viktor Hovland, and Byeong Hun An are scheduled to tee off first at 12:45 PM, followed by the rest of the field. And with the conditions not too extreme, it’s safe to say that participants can concentrate on their play rather than worrying about the weather. But what about the rest of the event?
How will the weekend be at The Sentry 2025?
As we head into the weekend at The Sentry, it looks like Maui’s weather will cooperate nicely. By Saturday, for Round 3, the temperature is expected to hit around 28°C, according to AccuWeather, so we’re in for a nice, warm day. The sun will be out, and conditions will be moderate, making for some prime golfing weather. There’s zero chance of thunderstorms, which is always a relief, and just a 2% chance of rain. The cloud cover will be light at 22%, so there will be plenty of sunshine to keep things bright. Winds will be at 22 km/h, which might get the players’ attention but shouldn’t be too much of a hassle. Overall, it’s looking like ideal golfing weather.

Then, on Sunday, it’s all about the final round and who will take home the trophy. The temperature will be a bit cooler at 27°C, but still plenty warm for the players to work with. The wind picks up a little, with gusts expected to reach 35 km/h, so those fairways could get a little tricky. There’s only a 10% chance of rain, and the cloud cover will be a slim 15%, so it should be another sunny, action-packed day. With no thunderstorms in the forecast and relatively low chances of precipitation, it’ll be all about the competition and who can handle the pressure of the final round.
If you’re looking to catch the action, Friday’s second round is airing from 6-10 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. You can also stream the coverage on PGA Tour Live via ESPN+ starting at 12:45 p.m. ET on Friday. It’s going to be a great weekend in Maui, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun!
