Will Sahith Theegala win the 2024 Sentry? The chances are weighing down, and although we cannot say anything after only one round, the PGA Tour pro’s 18-hole run has been nothing but remarkable. The 2023 Fortinet Championship winner may contest to win his second PGA Tour victory just at the start of the 2024 season, as he currently heads the leaderboard solo with 9 under par.

The 26-year-old golfer will be teeing it up again at 2:21 p.m. ET for the second round on Friday. To assist him, Theegala will have on the course the brilliant equipment that’s helped him shoot bombs and hole putts. Let’s explore what the Californian golfer is carrying in his bag for the 26th edition of The Sentry in Hawaii.

Sahith Theegala joined the PGA Tour in 2022. That same year, he signed a deal with his equipment sponsor, PING, while making his first professional appearance at the Travelers Championship. The 1x PGA Tour winner then said that PING suited him perfectly and gave him the much-needed confidence for the next step in his career. And it seems like that holds true today too.

Theegala’s all-PING bag has the PING G430 LST Driver with 10.5° adjusted to 9.5° of the loft. The golf pro has fitted it with the Project X Gen 4 Hzrdus Black 60g 6.5 shaft. The 440cc head of the driver, wrapped with Carbonfly wrap, allows for a reduced spin with high ball speed and better driving distance and retails for $579.99–$819.99.

For his Fairway Woods, the PGA Tour star does not have a hybrid or the commonly used 3-wood. Instead, he turns to the PING G430 MAX Fairway (5-wood, 18°) modified to 16° for him. The club is equipped with a Graphite Design DI 8-X shaft and PING 360 ID8 Gold grip. It further has a hosel with 8 positions of adjustment with ±1.5° and 3° flatter lies. Moreover, the club has been equipped with the same carbonfly wrap, which allows low CG and subsequently lowers the spin and maximizes the speed. The G430 MAX sells for $349.00.

The 26-year-old has two different types of irons for his range on the course: PING i210 (3) and prototype iron (4-PW). The latter has not been released to the public and has been in his bag since he replaced his Fortinet Championship irons, the Blueprint S. The i210, on the other hand, is made for pros as well as elite amateurs. It’s the go-to for many PING staff golfers, and it retails for $137.50 per club.

There are three different models of wedges in Theegala’s bag. 1) Glide 4.0 Wedge (50° S), 2) Prototype Wedge (54°), and 3) Glide 2.0 Wedge (58° TS). The 2.0 wedge is priced at $129.00, while the 4.0 sells for $150 per club. The wedges are renowned for being easily controlled around the greens and providing optimum stability.

On the greens, the putter Theegala uses to hole his shots is the Prototype Putter TR 1966 Anser 2 with 3° of loft and 20° of lie. The putter is probably different from the publicly available one, considering that it has a silver blast finish and is further fitted with a chrome shaft.
