Maui is still burning, figuratively! The hazardous wildfire has turned once a lively town into ashes in just a mere hours. The unfortunate incident led to many deaths and many families being displaced. Though the fire has been taken care of, its repercussions are still faced by Maui. The PGA Tour, with the 2024 Sentry, has come forward to help in the rebuilding of the affected areas!
A few months ago, even the PGA Tour and its members were unaware if the Sentry could be possible at the Plantation Course in Maui. But as they are playing there, from the Tour to the sponsors to the players, all are trying to help the community in whatever way they can.

Along with hosting the Sentry in Maui, the PGA Tour and pros are also engaging in philanthropic actions. The PGAT clan is lending a hand to the affected Maui community by raising funds. Coming from Sentry Insurance, it has already donated $2 million in funds. Some pros have started their campaigns to collect the funds, while some are showing their support in some other ways.
As a result of wearing Hawaiian-themed clothing on ALOHA Friday, $46,000 was raised for 30 players who participated. The PGAT heartthrob, Rickie Fowler explained that with PUMA, he has donned the ‘L’ initial hat, signifying Lahainaluna High School and what it stands for. The amount raised by every hat sold would be donated to their foundation, and Fowler is planning to match that amount from his side.
Another player who has eagerly supported the Maui community is Collin Morikawa. He has a special connection to the town, as his grandparents owned a restaurant in it. Morikawa and Xander Schauffele were a amongst few pros who donated in August as well. The duo was matched up to $100,000 by Hawaiian Host Group.

Now, Morikawa will be donating $2,000 per birdie and $4,000 per eagle, with Adidas matching the amount. Whereas Schauffele arranged a clinic for 60 junior golfers from the Maui community. More and more pros from the PGA Tour are coming forward to help in whatever small or big way they can.
