It’s been a month since Patrick Reed filed a defamation lawsuit against the Golf Channel. However, the case will no longer move forward as the golfer has decided to pull out of his 9-figure defamation trial. But merely a few hours later, Reed decided to refile the case in a new courtroom. Phil Mickelson along with many other defectors decided to pull out of their case against the PGA Tour. Though Patrick Reed had a different lawsuit compared to the rest, the outcome was the same. At least that’s what the fans thought initially. Let’s take a look at the latest happening in Reed’s court case.
Patrick Reed decided to pull out and then refile his $750 million lawsuit
For several years, Reed has been a victim of a bad reputation owing to his cheating allegations in the sport. However, the 32-year-old has clapped back at the haters by winning the 2018 Masters and giving consistently great performances in recent years.

But a month ago, Reed had filed a $750m defamation lawsuit against Golf Channel and commentator, Brandel Chamblee. The civil suit was filed in Texas. According to reports, it alleges that Chamblee and the cable network conspired with the PGA Tour and commissioner, Jay Monahan, to defame Reed “since he was 23 years old”.

However, it was reported that Patrick Reed has decided to pull out of the lawsuit. Nonetheless, a few hours later, Brandon Quinn of Athletic Interest, who first revealed Reed pulling out of the lawsuit, later disclosed that the 2018 Masters winner is refiling the lawsuit.
But instead of the case fought in Texas, the newly filed lawsuit will take place in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Moreover, along with Brandon Quinn, the new claim will also include names such as Damon Hack, Shane Bacon, and Eamon Lynch, who Reed believed to have defamed him over the years.
