You’ll probably see Xander Schauffele for another year on the PGA Tour. At least, that’s what the latest reports suggest. Earlier, the American pro was heavily linked with the Greg Norman-fronted LIV Golf. However, the Olympic champion has decided to change his mind. Or, as some fans claim, it was a fabrication from the beginning.
Schauffele was earlier critical of PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan over his handling of the $3 billion merger agreement. It sparked rumors that the disgruntled Americans would soon join the breakaway league. Various LIV Golf X (formerly Twitter) accounts, claiming to have insider sources, reported it’s only a matter of time. As is evident now, PGAT fans have not forgotten it.

The seven-time PGA Tour winner confirmed his participation in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The historic event has replaced the Phoneix Open as a signature event in the revamped PGA Tour calendar.

Earlier, The Tour announced that the field would be cut by nearly half from last year. 80 pros and 80 amateurs will pair up in the first two rounds at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. Unlike last year, only pros will advance to the final two rounds.
Nuclear Golf tweeted that the 30-year-old pro’s participation is a confirmation of his PGA Tour stance. The Pebble Beach event clashes with LIV Golf Mayakoba, which is set to tee off from February 2–4. Notably, two-time Ryder Cupper earlier said that he didn’t give much thought to the LIV Golf offer he had.

In fact, Schaufelle’s discontent with Monahan stemmed from the fact that he felt betrayed by the PGA Tour’s about-turn on the PIF-funded league. Naturally, PGA Tour supporters, buoyed by the current World No. 6’s decision, have called out earlier LIV Golf rumors. As per some fans, there was never any question of him switching sides.
“Fake?” asks triggered fans on the internet
Some of the fans were quick to point out how there were ‘confirmed’ reports that Xander Schauffele was joining LIV Golf. This X user called out one particular page.

This, obviously, puts a big question mark over other LIV Golf news. But this user went a little further claiming almost all of LIV’s news was “false”!
Lol. 99.99% of all livstan "news" is false

What about Jon Rahm, though? Although there is no confirmed news yet, this might as well turn out to be just some LIV tattle, as one fan wrote.
Obviously things can always change or I can be wrong but this news makes me think Rahm rumors the last couple weeks are bullshit. Xander and cantlay I was speculating as possibly leaving regardless of the recent rumors about them joining LIV.

Was it surprising? Not so much, as per one user. Although they claimed to have never thought of it, we believe it’s sarcasm.
So the rumours were false?!!! Well I never

What about the page that reported the alleged ‘rumor’? They must have not been very happy. Well, definitely not, after seeing this tweet.

However, some people are tired of the rumor-mongering. One look at this fan’s comment evinces that.
