‘The Rival Golf Tour We Need’: Fans React to Nickelodeon’s New Competition Featuring Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, and Others

The world often comes up with innovative ways to combine fun and sport. This time, Nickelodeon seems to have come up with the best way to put together a golf cup. Starring icons like Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm, this seems to be a new and interesting method to introduce kids to golf. Although not every kid will be willing to sit through 18 holes.

A usual PGA Tour event stretches over days, which might not be the ideal sport for kids to enjoy. Most children lean towards something fast-paced, often elevated via a splash of color. To make sure kids are locked in, the channel has now come up with the ‘Slime Cup’. Overall, everyone seems to be excited, hyping the event up on social media.

Fans are riled up, convinced that this is the rival golf league everyone needs in their life.

Some even asked if OWGR points will be awarded, tagging their favorite players. To a few users, this seemed to be the right way to actually grow the game.

Of course, there might be more stars that might be revealed on June 25, which is when the event airs. Tees will be different, along with the physical activity and random challenges involved. What makes it interesting are the four teams that are made. The teams will have one professional, one actor like Crews, and one Nickelodeon star.

“We are inventing our own golf match,” stated the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins. He admitted that it is indeed different and might not be something anyone could have witnessed. Especially the pros, who are used to playing in a plain environment.

“This is relay about making a fun, entertaining golf show,” Robbins added. At the end of the day, no one can deny the initiative. It serves as a good way to introduce young minds who might want to try out golf soon.
