The first season of LIV Golf ended last week. The tour commissioner, Greg Norman, was, however, not happy with how things took a turn. Players left the PGA Tour and joined LIV, igniting a rivalry between the tours. As a result, the LIV Golf defectors are not allowed back on the PGA Tour, nor can they play any major event.

This was a massive loss for the players, leading them to file a lawsuit against the tour. However, many LIV defectors withdrew their names. Norman was upset about how players are still fighting for their rights and how the PGA restricts them from playing in major tournaments.
The LIV commissioner might be hoping to cooperate with the PGA tour in the future. However, only time will tell if the PGA tour will buzz or stay firm in their decision. For now, Norman has hope. Let’s find out what he thinks about the situation.
Why did Greg Norman not celebrate the end of the first season?
World Golf Hall of Fame had a conference call with the reporters on Wednesday where he expressed his disappointment about the “vitriol.” He also revealed that the mid-year attempts to meet with PGA tour commissioner Jay Monahan were unsuccessful. The tour authorities have denied the meetings.

Norman said, “The PGA Tour has created this angst. We did not create the angst. Why does competition create heartburn? Why the vitriol?” The rivalry and problem were all created by the PGA Tour, according to Norman.

The two-time major championship winner said that LIV has tried to connect with PGA many times. Despite their uncountable efforts, the tour decided not to listen to them.
He said, “We have tried on many angles, many fronts. It’s very disappointing, this vitriol.” He swore his heart and said that many players might be saying no to playing with the PGA, but in the beginning, they all wanted to play for the PGA again.

Why is PGA not taking back the players?
In the beginning only, the PGA commissioner warned that players taking part in the LIV events would be subject to violation of membership rules. According to the rules, the player must play at least 15 events and ask permission to play in the conflicting event.
It can allow three events per year which can be evaluated after the requests. The players failed to do so; therefore, they were not allowed back to break the rules.
