The Waste Management Phoenix Open may be enticing for competitive golf, but it is the Arizonan fans that have caught everybody’s attention. Though they may be considered some of the best fans of the sport, their knowledge regarding the ongoing PGA Tour event was put to test. Were they able to pass the quiz or was the crowd filled with bandwagoners?

The fans at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course have been enjoying every second of the four-day tournament. From the invasion of streaker to the battle of beer snakes, the Phoenix fans have been hard to control.

Nonetheless, at times it gets confusing whether the fans are there for the sport of golf, or just for the vibes while having no knowledge about the sport. Golf Digest conducted an interview with the spectators regarding the PGA Tour event, and it’s fair to say that the fans did not disappoint.

Fans quizzed with Phoenix Open questions give interesting answers!

The host, Hally Leadbetter, asked the bystanders at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course a series of questions regarding the Arizonan tournament, and would give koozies in return. The first question was about which is the famous Par 3 hole. Most fans replied with the correct answer which is the 16th hole.

However, one girl claimed “It’s not 18”, before guessing the 11th hole. The next question was also related to the notable hole, as the interviewer asked, “How many aces have been made on the 16th hole?” The responders go on a guessing spree, as one says 27 while the other guesses 15. The girl who stated 11th hole was the most prominent, also used the same number to get the right answer.

She says ‘11’, which is the correct answer. Over the PGA Tour schedule, there are plenty of events starting with the acronym ‘TPC’. In the next question, the fans were asked to expand the three letters. The answers varied from ‘The Players Championship’ to ‘The Pacific Coast’, but the right answer was Tournament Players Club.
