Greg Norman might have been one of the most loved names during his playing days. However, as one says, it takes just one decision to make you fall from the sky to the ground. In the case of Norman, it was him becoming the CEO of LIV Golf. Ever since taking up the position, Norman has been the target of the raging golf world. An example of it was seen recently.

Ever since joining LIV Golf, Norman’s social media updates have largely revolved around the Saudi Arabia-backed league and its players. However, recently, taking to his Twitter handle, the 2-time Open Champion put an appreciation post for Spanish golfer Jon Rahm. While he praised Rahm for his class, it was the golf world that responded with some serious lashing.
Fans call out Greg Norman for his ‘class praising’ post for Jon Rahm
Recently, LIV Golfer Eugenio López-Chacarra outplayed some of the biggest names in the golf world to win the Bangkok event of the Saudi Arabia backed-league. Showing off his near-to-perfect game, the 22-year-old Spaniard topped the leaderboard with a score of -19. The impressive performance invited a shower of praise from not only his followers but also his fellow countryman, Jon Rahm.
Later in the day, Norman, taking to his Twitter handle, shared the clip of Rahm congratulating López-Chacarra. He captioned the post, “This is what professional golf should be all about. Thank you Jon Rahm for your classy message. Players supporting players. We are all golfers!”

As mentioned earlier, ever since joining LIV Golf, Greg Norman has been the target of the raging golf world. This time was no different. Considering the controversial status of Norman, the post took no time to spread around in the golfing community and get flooded with infuriating comments.
Problem is Greg you are the most classless golfer of all.

Yes Rahm has class. You don’t Greg. Your hellbent on destroying golf because of a grudge 20 years ago. LIV will never be recognized with you involved. You’re not going to get points and your top players will not be eligible for majors. Maybe you should’ve been more truthful.

Several social media users were not happy.
Shame you can’t be classy

Class … a word you don’t understand.

Class is nothing you possess Greg!! You’re all about bitterness and making the almighty dollar. You’ve sold your soul to the 👿 but I know you don’t care and never will until one day you get to meet the owner of your soul!! Have fun with that!! pic.twitter.com/ztp6oriwFm

Even though a major section of the golf world accused him of lacking ‘class’, another section opted to stick to the old path. Taking to the comments section, these fans once again called out Norman for his association with LIV Golf. While some called him arrogant, others addressed concerns over his ethics.
Greg needs the pga, Greg needs the Ryder cup, Greg needs the majors, Greg needs the presidents cup,…see a pattern? Nobody needs you.

He supports other players, not you because you are an arrogant prick.

You have been anything but professional Norman! And you cant handle the fact that the golf world does not bow down to you and your carnival league you have 0 credibility and no business ethics! Bully, badmouth and sue! Oddly similar to your political idol. No coincidence!

Norman took up the role of the CEO of LIV Golf in 2021. However, even a year later, the comments on the post are proof that the golf world looks in no mood to accept his decision yet.
On the part of Rahm, he recently expressed his disagreement with banning LIV Golfers from competing at the Ryder Cup. “The Ryder Cup is not the PGA Tour and European Tour against LIV – it’s Europe versus the US, period. The best of each against the other, and for me the Ryder Cup is above all,” he said.
