The 2022 Master Tournament winner, Scottie Scheffler, could not defend his title this year but is winning fans’ hearts. In Augusta this year, the pro golfer shot four-under-par 68. Unfortunately, on Friday, he ended last on the leaderboard after shooting three over 75. But the fans’ reactions will definitely cheer up the down-to-earth golfer. A Twitter post about him is making rounds on the internet, and his humility is impressing fans across the globe.
Scottie Scheffler wins over the golf world
Amanda Rose, a renowned golf analyst, posted three pictures of the pro on her Twitter post. In one picture, he was sitting on a chair clapping. But the other two pictures were focused on his old loafers, which need to be changed. Rose wrote, “I think Scottie Scheffler is hilarious and precious and must be protected at all costs. That being said, can we please get him some new loafers?” Despite claiming $14 million in 2022, he did not buy new loafers and still uses the old ones because they can be used. Not to mention, $14 million does not include $5.75 million from the FedEx Cup and $5.5 million from the Player Impact Program.

The fans looked at the post that showcased the major championship winner’s humility. And they reacted to it. Fans showered love for him and stood up for the guy who prefers old rather than new despite being a millionaire. All comments proved that his down-to-earth gesture melted the hearts. He has been called boring before, but he was the most fun today.
Such a low key, humble guy. We need more like him, bad loafers and all!!! His family was the most gracious and thankful to us volunteers at Dell Match Play.

Reduce, re-use, repair, recycle. He doesn’t need new loafers for the moment. Those loafers might be very comfy for him 🙏🏻💚

It’s not like he can’t afford new shoes. 🙄

It was only a few moments after the post a fan pointed out that he needed a new car as well. He said, “He needs a new car too I think. Still driving his 2013 suburban from college.” For those who don’t know, even after earning a huge sum from his sheer perfection, Scheffler continues to drive in his old college-era Chevy Suburban. It is the perfect testament to show how grounded he is, even after having all the wealth in the world. He still chooses to drive the car his dad gifted him during his years at the University of Texas.
Do you realize he drives a car that’s 15 years old and has 200K miles❓Just a frugal guy I guess 🤷🏼♂️

The guy still drives his 2012 Chevy Surburban. It's not a shocker that he still has his college loafers.

The wonders of the former Masters winner
When Scheffler first walked the Augusta this year, many odd makers were already on his side. And with his opening round, he proved his worth. Scheffler now has seven straight Masters scores below par after his 4-under 68, which he scored in the first round. Earlier, the record for the most rounds played in a row that were under par was 11, which is held by Dustin Johnson. Scheffler’s 68 is the lowest first-round score, which was first held by Tiger Woods in 2020. Even though he did not win this year, he reached certain milestones in his career.
