And a similar thing happened when American golfer, Sam Bennett left a bang-on response to an unforeseen question during his interview.

And when amateur golf star Sam Bennett was put forward in the line of questions, his answers made things a lot more interesting.

Things have been going pretty well for the player ever since he reached Augusta. As per reports, the golfer received a well-deserved room upgrade on Monday. Moreover, he even got to visit the Augusta National’s press building for his unfiltered interview after his second consecutive 68. However, despite his happy streak, there was something that the player was about to miss out on. And during his interview, a reporter decided to take the liberty to ask a heavy question!

“The person who finished second last year at the Masters made $1.6 million. Is there any part of you that sees the prize money?” the reporter asked. Well, it is definitely a little disappointing for the golfer to be winning a much lower share from the purse due to his amateur status. Notably, he won’t be receiving as much as the pros he is tied with at the end of the final round.

But his response to the poking concern was nothing less than epic. With his head hanging as the question ended, Bennett laughed and said, “Yeah, I don’t know, NIL has been pretty good this year.”. Well, it was definitely enough to answer all money-related questions from the player. And he was probably right. After all, the number of logos on his shirt was enough to understand his popularity among fans!

How did Bennett qualify for the Masters?

Bennett, 23, has earned pretty good fame at such a young age. Currently tied at 4th place alongside LIV Golf legend, Phil Mickelson, the golfer has been showing really good form on the field. However, a lot of fans are probably wondering how the player managed to receive his Masters invite this year despite being an amateur golfer.

For those who don’t know, the golf star made a strong identity for himself after he won the 2022 U.S. Amateur in August. And with that, the golfer was able to earn an exemption to play at the 2023 Masters. However, in order to appear at the mega-tournament, the player was required to maintain his amateur status.
