The Masters is one of the biggest events in golf. It is not only known for golfers achieving a green jacket, but is also known for its coveted traditions. The Masters special home kit is famous among the fans. And the Champions dinner menu was also the talk of the town. However, one such tradition is followed by golf underdog, John Daly. For the past 26 years, he has followed the same Augusta tradition, and without a break, this year, he will be doing it again, and the fans are more than excited about the latest update.

John Daly will follow his own Masters tradition

GolfWRX collaborated with John Daly and posted his photo with Hooters members. They wrote, “A Masters week tradition unlike any other. @johndaly hanging with the people at @hooters in Augusta.” Sadly, he won’t be playing in Masters this year, but Daly has spent a lot of time during Masters Week in the Augusta National Golf Course parking lot at the Hooters tent.

When fans and other former champions are busy celebrating the traditions, the ”Big John’ writes his own story. Fans have hyped Daly’s tradition and said, “The people’s champ!!”

They are excited about it because they believe, “The real attraction this week. More fun here that at Augusta. 😂” However, in the post, defending champion, Scottie Scheffler, can be seen on TV in the background. Fan noted that and hilariously said, “Scottie is having masters dinner “in the background on tv,” and Daly is doing this..” Another comment followed, “Scheffler in the background really rounds this out.” He also followed the tradition and hosted a great dinner ahead of the Masters.

Why Daly follows his infamous Hooters tradition?

Every year Daly sets up his camp with Hooters at Augusta. The tent provides food to all the fans who want it. He talked to David Meltzer in a 2008 interview and discussed the tradition. He said, Hooters is like a family to me, you know.” Daly also added, “We have done this since 1997 when I played the Masters, and I do it when I don’t”.

The tent might just be serving food, but it is indeed a great opportunity for fans to meet Daly and get autographs and take pictures. The pro also stated in a recent video that the tradition would enhance the Masters experience for fans who were watching at home before concluding with his well-known tagline.
